[1] An ema (絵馬) is a small wooden plaque that traditionally worshippers write wishes on to hang up at the shrine.
Priest
Everyone, thank you for your hard work. Things certainly got out of hand tonight.
Rei
It really was a struggle.
Hiyori
But hardly anyone was hurt! And Yui fixed up anyone who was right away!
Yui
They only had a few scrapes and bruises from running away. Even without my magic, they would've healed naturally just fine.
Priest
You made many of the worshippers very happy as well. I have the reward for you here -- both the original amount we agreed on, and a little extra for your trouble.
Hiyori
All right! Thank you!
Rei
Thank you for your kindness.
Priest
Not at all. I regret that this was all I could do... Truly, this is only appropriate as thanks for your hard work. If possible, I'd like to request your help again next year.
Hiyori
... W-We'll think about it!
Later.
Rei
Hey, before we go, we should write an ema.[1]
Hiyori
Yeah, I've been waiting for this! I'm super excited to put an ema up!
Yui
Yuuki, do you know what an ema is?
Yuuki
1. "What's an ema?"
Yui
It's a little wooden plaque where you write down a wish you have for the new year, to be offered at the shrine. Here, this one is for you.
Hiyori
You can wish for anything you want!
Yui
We'll have to visit here again after our wishes come true! Yuuki, what kind of wish do you want to make?
Yuuki
1. "I wish for..."
Later.
Hiyori
Okay, it looks like everyone's finished writing, so let's all show each other on the count of three! Three, two, one!
All Three
Here!
Ema's Words
"For everyone to remain together forever."
Later.
Hiyori
We're home... Finally... I'm sooo tired...
Rei
I'm exhausted as well... Huh? Where did Yui and Yuuki go?
Yui
Zzz... zzz...
Hiyori
They've already fallen asleep. Yaaawn... I'm gonna turn in, too... I'm coming in right beside you, Yui...
Hiyori
Zzz... zzz...
Rei
I'm at my limit, too... Good night...
Yui
... Here's to... a wonderful new year... Zzz...
